A few weeks ago, an artist, whom I know only from Twitter and BPAL, basically, announced that she was going to be giving away some of her artwork. I have long admired her work and jumped at the chance to get a print for free.
Well, my packet of art arrived on Saturday and here I sit on Sunday trying to decide how to frame it and which wall to put it on in my new, bare apartment.

and here is what she sent me. I apologise for the poor pictures, but reduced to using a p&s, indoor light, etc. I made a little slideshow. hope you like it. I am particularly fond of the Shakespeare/Ophelia print as that Ophelia painting is my favorite of hers. And yes, there are a couple of Evelyn/Evelyn things in there.

Not dead yet!

Yes, I am still alive.
We have moved again, to a much nicer apartment, my husband has a full time job and I am still working at LILA half time. I am getting a new proper DSLR camera in the next few weeks, so no more auto Ixus photos (although I really love that little camera!)
I should be starting a photography course here soon, before summer is over, so there will be lots of new photos.

Hahaha, I managed to take one photo today that I liked!
I got my battery and took a short walk at lunch and this is the one photo I got –

Pretty sweet wheels parked just outside the Atrium in Eugene.
The only other news I have today is that I got to park for free cause the pay machine at the parking lot was broken!
All in all, an uneventful day – not always a bad thing.

Well, dang, y’all! I was going to get out tomorrow at lunchtime and do some street shooting, but my camera battery is dead. I thought I had a second one somewhere, but since the move, I haven’t been able to find it. So, I guess I will explore some camera shops tomorrow after work and try to do some street shooting Tues and Wed at lunchtime.
The area where I work is just across from the Eugene Public Library and near the bus station (I work in the Atrium Bldg, if you know Eugene) and there are so many good shots going unsnapped. I am itching to get shooting now that I am feeling a bit better. Shooting with a vision impairment is — interesting. At least I can still see well up close, so editing is easy enough. Looking around for some GIMP or Photo Shop classes that are affordable.
In other news, how do you like the new look of the blog? Does that big bug popping up every so often bother anyone? It sort of bothers me, so I might take that picture down. Otherwise, I like the changing photo and the colors. Is it easy enough to read?
Let me know your thoughts. I will be doing some things to publicize the blog over the next week and then probably do a big splash out after the Holidays. I am thinking of some contests/giveaways/etc to drive some traffic here from Twitter, since I follow/am followed by around 500 folks, all told. Maybe something to do with vision loss and encourage some contributions to VisionAware or something.
If anyone has any ideas/comments/suggestions let me know. Have a good week!!

Here are a few old pics I didn’t post before.

I don’t remember where this Big Chicken was. Somewhere between Oregon and Georgia!

I was glad to get out of La Grande and all this snow and frost.

This photo of the Golden Gate Bridge is one of my fave photos I ever took. Need to get it into Photoshop and clean up the dead bugs. Paul DID NOT like driving in this fog!
